Features
Everything SmartCouture does for a tailor shop.
The full detail, need by need. No promises: these are the functions running today, in the words you use in the shop.
Your clients
Your clients, and how you measure them
Generic software imposes its own fields. SmartCouture lets you define yours, because a boubou and a suit are not measured the same way.
Available from the Starter plan.
- One record per clientName, phone, gender, and the full history of their past orders.
- Measuring points you createShoulder, neck, arm, kaftan length: you name your own fields, in your own words.
- Several measurement sheetsA standard sheet, or sheets specific to what you sew: you choose the one that applies to the order.
- Your own garment typesBoubou, grand boubou, agbada, kaftan, kurta, ceremonial gown, suit: you build the list of what you sew.
- Size templatesFor ready-to-wear, sizes ready to use instead of taking measurements.
- Style libraryMobile · BusinessPhotos and videos of your styles, with their options, reusable from one order to the next.
Production
From the order to the doorstep
Most tools stop at “order in progress”. SmartCouture goes down to each piece, and then to each stage.
Available from the Starter plan. Changing statuses in bulk needs the web interface (Business).
- An order in a few tapsClient, items, fabric, quantity, delivery date, deposit paid.
- The order statusTo do, being sewn, finished, delivered, and returned, when a piece comes back.
- Tracking goes down to the pieceIn an order with several items, each piece carries its own status.
- The stages of the workCutting, sewing, embroidery, assembly, finishing, pressing, packing: how a shop actually runs, not a single status.
- Delivery calendarEvery order appears on the day it is due. Month or week view.
- Late work and pieces to collectWhat has passed its date and what the client has not come to collect, counted separately.
- Bulk status changesBusinessTick several pieces and move them all to sewing or finished in one go.
- Automatic numberingEvery order carries its number, which you find again on the invoice and in messages.
Money
What comes in, what goes out, what you are still owed
Record the payment exactly as it reaches you. The deposit, the balance and the invoice follow on their own.
Available from the Starter plan. Detailed statistics need the Business plan.
- The payment recorded by its real methodCash, mobile money, card, cheque, bank transfer. The methods you see depend on your country: the ones your clients really use, not a fixed list.
- Deposit and balanceWhat has been paid and what is still owed, visible on the order and on the client’s record.
- PDF invoicesIn your shop’s name, with your logo, shared straight to the client.
- Expenses by categoryRent, fabric, wages, internet: you create your own expense categories.
- “Where is your money going?”Your expenses broken down by category, as a share and as an amount. Without a spreadsheet.
- Income by month and by methodWhat has come in today, this week, this month, and what is still to come.
- Detailed statisticsBusinessBy garment type, by tailor, by manager, and how orders and income move over time.
Materials
Fabrics, items and stock
Fabric is a shop’s biggest expense. It is treated that way, not as one more line on an order.
Available from the Starter plan.
- Your fabrics, in photosEvery fabric with its image, its name and its type. Bazin riche, wax, satin: your own naming.
- Fabric used per orderHow much fabric the piece really used, recorded on the order.
- Fabric supplied by you or by the clientThe order carries the distinction: it changes the price and it changes the stock.
- Item catalogueYour ready-to-wear pieces, with their categories and prices.
- Stock deducted at order timeThe metres come out of stock as soon as the order is taken. No more counting by hand.
- Stock reservationAn item is reserved when the order is accepted: it cannot be sold twice.
The team
Share the work without sharing everything
The day you hire, the question is no longer finding a measurement. It is knowing who does what, and who is allowed to see what.
Working as a team needs the Business plan.
- Several usersBusinessEveryone in the shop has their own account, password and history of actions.
- Roles you adjustBusinessShop manager, bookkeeper, salesperson: start from the existing roles and redefine what each one covers in your shop.
- Rights granted one by oneBusinessSee income, record a payment, edit an order, delete a client: each right is granted separately.
- Hide the client’s phone numberBusinessA right of its own: someone can work on an order without seeing your client list.
- Work assignmentBusinessCutting, sewing, embroidery, finishing: each stage goes to the right person.
- Work per team memberBusinessWhat is assigned and what is done, person by person. Data import and export included.
Client relations
Clients get the news without you answering the phone
“Is it ready yet?” Those calls break up the day. The message goes out on its own, in your shop’s name.
Automatic messages start with the Mobile plan. Writing to a client from their record is available from Starter.
- The moments that trigger a messageMobile · BusinessOrder recorded, piece finished, order delivered, payment received, payment reminder, deposit request, collection reminder.
- SMS or WhatsApp, by countryThe channel is chosen automatically from the client’s country. There is nothing to set up.
- In your shop’s nameThe message goes out under your name, not SmartCouture’s.
- Message templates you rewriteBusinessChange the wording of each message so it speaks the way you speak.

Selling online
